Black House and White Shutters? Black and White patterns, color scheme…REALLY an ACHROMATIC scene.

I have always been a fan of black and white together.  Recently I came across a new collection of plates Kate Spade designed.  So, this gets me on a roll.  I see black and white everywhere and from there to here I share my flare!  The thrill of the hunt and gathering of inspiring design finds to include in this blog has been great fun.  Black and white is a wonderful color scheme in a room.  I like to add a pop of orange, red or blue and tone down some of the black with a gray rug or paint color.  Beige, tan and brown hues can pull the room together quite nicely as well.   A room is described as having an achromatic color scheme if the colors are only, black, grays, whites, tan, beige and browns.  This is a very sleek and modern look.

I am on Cape Cod for a few days.  My cousin Dorothy is getting married this weekend.  Lots of pics to post on the most beautiful Gray homes with white trim later this weekend.  Oh, and don’t forget the flowers, they are AMAZING!
